L.A. Times predicts Emmy nod for Sevigny
The Los Angeles Times recently revealed their this year’s prospective winners for an acting Emmy, and it delights me to announce Chloë Sevigny is among their favorite picks as the winner in the Best Actress (Drama) category for her portrayal of Nicolette “Nicki” Grant in HBO’s critically acclaimed polygamist drama series, Big Love.
Nicki’s two sister wives, as portrayed by Jeanne Tripplehorn and Ginnifer Goodwin, were named as possible, albeit not favorite, picks for the same award, while Bill Paxton was named as a favorite in the Best Actor (Drama) category. Other Big Love cast mentioned were Bruce Dern (Best Supporting Actor, Drama; possible pick), Harry Dean Stanton (Best Supporting Actor, Drama; longshot pick), Mary Kay Place (Best Supporting Actress, Drama; possible pick) and Grace Zabriskie (Best Supporting Actress, Drama; longshot pick). Fingers crossed!

‘Big Love’ Season 3 delayed until 2009
I have some awful news, you guys. It would seem the WGA writers’ strike of last Winter had an unexpectedly heavy impact on the production of Big Love; according to E!Online, the series 3rd season has been pushed back as far as January 2009. I don’t know about you, but I know I’m disappointed.

Yay, new photos! Yesterday, (an absolutely stunning!) Chloë showed up at the 3rd Annual Cartier Love Celebration in Los Angeles; 18 hi-res and medium-res photos have been added to the gallery. Chloë joins the cast of ‘Divorce Ranch’
We have word of another new movie project for Chloë! Variety (which is generally a fairly reliable source) reports Chloë and Zooey Deschanel have joined the cast of Divorce Ranch, an indie comedy directed and written by Michael Lindsay-Hogg. From Variety:
Chloë Sevigny and Zooey Deschanel will star in indie comedy Divorce Ranch, produced, directed and written by veteran helmer Michael Lindsay-Hogg. Anne Clements (Quinceanera) will produce along with Lindsay-Hogg. Shooting starts in September.
Divorce Ranch is set in Nevada just after WWII, when a quickie divorce could be granted after residency was established. Sevigny will portray an actress who comes to the ranch with her 6-year-old son so she can then marry a wealthy man. Deschanel will play her assistant.

Chloë to star in ‘Barry Munday’
Some weeks back we reported of a new film project for Chloë, co-starring Patrick Wilson and Judy Greer. The Hollywood Reporter now reports this film is the dark romantic comedy Barry Munday, for which production is set to begin in Los Angeles next month. From The Hollywood Reporter:
Wilson will play the title character, a womanizer who gets attacked, loses his testicles and discovers that a brief fling with a woman (Greer) he can’t remember has led to a paternity suit.
Sevigny will play the woman’s flirtatious sister, who has a secret life and no compunctions about coming on to Munday. Shepherd will play their mother, and Williams is cast as the tough boss at Munday’s insurance company.

‘Big Love’ Season 2 screen captures
At last(!) we have some screen captures of Season 2 of HBO’s polygamist drama series Big Love, in which Chloë portrays Nicolette “Nicki” Grant. Unfortunately, the caps are medium-res, however they will be replaced with better quality ones as soon as the Region 2 DVD reaches my country.
Personally, I think Big Love is one of the best shows on television right now. It’s an absolute pleasure to screen cap these episodes, and Chloë is positively marvelous as the manipulative second wife, Nicki. I can’t wait for Season 3!

Chloë talks new film, ‘Big Love’ resumes S3 filming
There hasn’t really been much news on Chloë’s current and upcoming projects, so I thought I’d post a quick round-up of what’s coming up for our favorite actress. Kicking things off with…
… a potential new project for Chloë! Women’s Wear Daily reports Chloë recently mentioned in an interview an upcoming film in which she stars alongside Patrick Wilson and Judy Greer. I haven’t been able to find any additional information on this film yet, but here’s to hoping it’s true! From WWD.com:
Chloë Sevigny, who kicked off her DJ set at Colette over the weekend with The Cramps, said she was heading back to the States to resume shooting Big Love, as well as a new film also starring Patrick Wilson and Judy Greer. She was shy about details, but said it’s set in the present day and her character is “kind of sassy, which is good, because I never get to be sexy!”
If you read the above excerpt, you will also know that Big Love has resumed Season 3 filming in the U.S. as the WGA writers’ strike ended some weeks back. Yay! The third season of the series will premiere on HBO sometime this summer.
And finally some tidbits: Peter and Catherine seems to have been indefinitely postponed, and the film has been removed from Chloë’s IMDb filmography so I’m not entirely sure what’s the film’s current status. If anyone knows something about this, please get in touch! Thank you. Meanwhile, The Killing Room has moved into post-production, and there’s still no word as to the rumor we had some time back about Chloë’s potential role in Terminator 4. We’ll keep you posted!

Chloë in ‘The Guardian’ February issue
Believe it or not, but I have news of yet another Chloë magazine feature. UK magazine The Guardian recently sat down with Chloë for an interview regarding her Opening Ceremony clothing line, fashion and Big Love for their February 16 2008 issue. She furthermore shot a beautiful photoshoot for the issue, which will be added to our upcoming, new gallery. Read the interview in its entirety at TheGuardian.co.uk, here’s an excerpt:
Earlier that day, over lunch, she is frank about her disdain for the lucrative modelling gigs - Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, H&M - that not only pay her bills but could also settle those of most of her East Village neighbours. “The shoots can go on, like, for ever,” she complains, sinking a fork into her salmon terrine. She used to worry that modelling diminished her as an actor in people’s eyes, “but the lines are blurred now. Look at Charlize Theron - she’s done so many ads.” I ask if there isn’t a side to modelling that makes her uncomfortable. “Oh, like the selling out, you mean?” She gives a wheezy, high-pitched laugh that sounds like a tent being unzipped at high speed. “Yeah, that’s not so much fun. But fashion is a good way for me to make a living. I couldn’t survive just doing independent movies. And I’d rather do modelling than movies or TV I didn’t like.”
She is in good spirits, but there’s a restlessness just below the surface. She seems unduly bothered by a waitress’s orange shirt. “What is this, Guantánamo Bay?” she splutters. Another server asks if we need anything. “Wow, she has a funny voice,” she says when the woman is out of earshot. Even a compliment proves equivocal. “They’re very helpful here.” Pause. “A little overhelpful.”
